We have worked for many years in collaboration with our European partners in providing life changing opportunities for disadvantaged youth; in part the aim has been to give greater opportunities to youth whilst also, at the same time, working towards creating a sense of being European in our young people.
We participate in three key programmes:
The AWdF has designed and delivered work experience opportunities under the Erasmus Programme for many years. Currently, With its network of partner Colleges it is facilitating 80 student placements over the winter of 2019.
The AWdF focus is in the following areas.
Placements are designed around the curriculum needs of the sending institution. The AWdF provides a student support framework covering preparation and planning, mentoring arrangements, pastoral care including experience handling mental health issues, provisions of accommodation and catering requirements as well as all logistics, (flights insurances etc) The report on last years program awarded an 82% approval rating by the EU assessors!!! The AWDF has EVS funding for 2 months and 1 year volunteer placement for UK based student interested in volunteering on our whale conservation programme, research guiding on while watching boats in Tenerife.
All costs covered and a small stipend paid.
