Indigenous people

Photo: Azzedine Rouichi
Under this category, we are interested in works based on indigenous peoples and ethnic groups which still maintain traditions or any other cultural aspects that are associated with a given historical or present-day region. We are looking for films and photography ranging from a simple "day in the life" perspective to factual historically accurate documentaries to promote lesser-known indigenous cultures, as well as spread awareness of their existence and relevance in the modern world. With all the troubles and difficulties that were brought about by the COVID pandemic, various indigenous peoples across the globe were some of the most affected groups. Having been historically marginalized, and with less access to resources and emergency medical services on average, it is important to show the world how these peoples have been, and for the foreseeable future still will be, affected.
