For much of human history, physical health has been given priority over its mental counterpart. Nevertheless, mental health is undeniably as important as physical health, and while in the modern era attitudes towards it have been slowly improving, it's still a topic surrounded by high degrees of stigma. Everyday people with underlying mental health issues go unnoticed and untreated. With the beginning of the COVID pandemic, and the introduction of quarantines and lockdowns, people have been forced to isolate, and separate themselves from the rest of society, making us detached from human interaction. We rely on others for the wellbeing of our mental state, and when this connection was suddenly lost and taken away, so did a part of our capacity for happiness. In this category we want to explore topics surrounding mental health, attitudes towards it, how certain issues are being treated, what could be improved, and what new challenges we have come to face with the dawn of the pandemic.
