The aim of the London Eco Film Festival is to raise awareness of critical issues and to inspire action.

Films will be shown in clusters in order to focus on a number of important issues. Each focal cluster will be accompanied by either key talks, discussions and /or workshops designed to both inspire, facilitate and orchestrate action.

The LEFF Focal Clusters for 2019 are as follows:

Plastic Pollution

Showing films that address one of the great environmental challenges of our time and raise global awareness of the need to reduce the heavy burden of plastic pollution on people’s health and the threat it poses to the environment and wildlife. We want to present the impacts and scale of the problem, as well as the solutions that are being put in place around the globe.

Extinction Rebellion

Extinction Rebellion has changed the paradigm of climate protests. The group began protesting in October 2018 and already has been the catalyst for two separate debates on climate change held by UK parliament. We want to present films showing the nature and extent of the extinction threat and strategies that are being used around the world to force decision makers to implement strategies to combat the issue.

London Speaks

We want to show films that represent a collage of voices from ‘Londoners’, giving voice to their concerns, frustrations and calls for action. This will include Intelligent Conversations (IC) from around the world giving an all important voice to the disadvantaged and marginalised.

Women

Films showing both the work of women in campaigning and protesting and, also, at the forefront of implementing conservation initiatives. Linked to Indigenous peoples' films where women play a pivotal role in maintaining livelihoods and culture in a sustainable way and in the work of micro-finance initiatives in which the role of women is critical.
